Section 3 – The Person

This section should be used to marry the deliverables outlined in the last section to the skills sets required to perform the role.  When writing this specification it is useful to consider the following factors:

- Presentation

What will the role demand in terms of health, appearance and manner?  This needs to be reasonably non-specific to avoid any potential discrimination, but it is possible to specify areas that relate to requirements of the role, for example:

- Attainments

This section should specify the academic requirements of the role and list any technical requirements such as specific software or methodologies the applicant needs to have knowledge of. This can be couched in terms of both essential attainments and those attainments which although are not critical, are desirable.

- Career background

This should indicate the types of previous experience that candidates should have had in their past roles in order to qualify for the position.  Typically this may include statements such as:

- Disposition

In this section applicants should be given a sense of the type of personality required to succeed in the role.  Typically this should contain statements such as:

- Circumstances
